Article: Baby, it's cold outside!

Baby, it's cold outside!

Winter Skin Worries?  We’ve got it covered.

As the climate changes and the countdown to the festive party season begins, take time out to change up your skincare in preparation for the colder weather, central heating and late nights! (Some more fun than others but none are the best of friends for your skin).

The first recommended switch to consider is your facial cleanser. In the warmer months nothing feels nicer than splashing your face with water and using a refreshing, foaming facial wash. Not so much in the colder climates. Those with dryer skins might notice that the skin needs a little more now and your facial wash might leave your skin feeling stripped of oil and tight.

One our favourite cleansers and perfect for this time of year (although a top seller throughout all seasons) is Nyasa’s Cleansing Balm.  Nothing short of a velvety relief that gently melts away make up and impurities, leaving your skin feeling beautifully clean and comforted.  Think about how you remove your cleanser too, a warm flannel is the perfect alternative for those who like a cleansing wipe or prone to using cotton pads.  Flannels provide the perfect replacement and are of course reusable, so a kind tick for our planet.

Next on the winter prep to-do list is exfoliation. The colder weather can bring on a dull complexion, so stepping up your exfoliating is no bad thing.  A glycolic acid is the perfect ingredient to banish dull skin and obtain maximum, glowing skin. (who doesn’t want that in their life?)  Glycolic acid effectively removes dull skin cells revealing a brighter, fresher complexion. Try Avant’s Glycolic Acid Rejuvenating Face Exfoliator, this beauty hero is an exfoliating cream that has been designed to gently refine and reveal a fresher, more youthful looking skin.

Keeping with the acid theme, an all-round high-performance product to keep lacklustre at bay, is Lernberger Stafsing’s AHA / BHA Peel Gel Mask - a beauty must have.  Formulated with a blend of glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid and salicylic acid, this power group of acids work hard to encourage cell renewal and reveal nothing short of radiant, dewy skin.

Once you’ve polished away those dead skin cells, it’s the ideal opportunity to take time out and don your favourite face mask.  Sheet Masks are all the rage and at TBA, we’re on board with that! We love Skimono Beauty Masks, their sheet masks have been formulated to deliver an intense restorative treatment.   Created to mould perfectly to the contours of your face, the sheet masks infuse your skin with a replenishing serum with high concentrations of hyaluronic acid to provide a long-lasting hydration leaving a soft and supple complexion.

So, with preparation in place, your skin will be ready to take on the winter months and ready to glow this festive season – bring on the Christmas parties!
